Here she glows: the first glow-in-the-dark scooter

Nucliaseatcoverpride_1If you didn't read about Nuclia Waste's adventures when her neon green ET4 was stolen, go read it right now.

Then bookmark Nuclia's web site and mark your calendar: June 1st will be the unveiling of her new glow in the dark Vespa GTS. Here's the press release that showed up today:

World's First Glow-In-The-Dark Atomic Scooter To Be Unveiled in Denver

The world's first glow-in-the-dark "Atomic Scooter" will be unveiled at Erico Motorsports/Vespa Denver, 2855 Walnut St., on Thursday, June 1 at 6:30 p.m. This one-of-a-kind custom Vespa scooter belongs to Nuclia Waste, the triple nipple drag queen of comedy, who made Newsweek magazine last year by catching the thieves who stole her radioactive green and pink scooter.

"I caught those thieves green-handed. It wasn't too bright stealing a scooter that appeared in Forbes magazine. But my poor Vespa had to be totaled. I've been working with airbrush artist Randy Gustafson on a new and improved radioactive ride, fit for a Plutonium Princess," explains Nuclia. "This new scooter will have five times the horsepower with a 250cc engine, which is larger than some motorcycles. Plus it gets 70 miles to the gallon, which is great for our environment and my purse."

Also unique to this scooter will be it's ability to glow in the dark at night, the first of its kind in the world. The special paint, not available in the United States,  had to be flown in from Europe.

"This scooter just has to be seen to be believed," says Nuclia. "Imagine a fiery green comet hurling itself on a collision course with earth, and you might come close. If there are any dinosaurs left hiding out on earth, this will certainly finish them off."

The Atomic Scooter unveiling, which is open to the public,  will take place after a special presentation and book signing by "Vroom With A View" author Peter Moore. The Australian author is touring the United States to promote his new book about his adventures in Italy on a 1961 Vespa scooter.

BTW, the picture of Nuclia in this post is one she sent to me highlighting the seat cover I made for her ill-fated ET. I guess I better get moving if I'm going to find glow-in-the-dark fabric for a scooter seat cover by June 1...
